Any company may post engineering and data science jobs for free on the Triplebyte Jobs Directory, visible to the over 100,000 engineers on our platform. Companies without a paid Triplebyte Hire subscription can only post jobs, respond to direct applications, and use Triplebyte Screen. They cannot view or send outbound messages to Triplebyte candidates who do not directly apply to their jobs. Non-engineering jobs are not allowed on Triplebyte (e.g. product management, design, etc.).
How to create a free job posting
- Sign up for a free Triplebyte company account.
- To create your first job posting, click the Hire tab in the top nav bar to access the free job posting page.
- On the New Role page, be sure to enable the checkbox for "Visible to candidates" at the top of the page.
- A company profile is required to make your job post visible. If you cannot check the visibility checkbox, you should fill out your company profile first.
You can access your company profile by clicking the gear icon in the upper right nav bar. - After you've filled out your company profile and have navigated back to the job posting creation page, fill out each field to create your role.
You will likely encounter lots of questions unique to Triplebyte about your engineering process -- these are the details candidates are looking for when they search for jobs on Triplebyte, so please answer as many as you can. - When you click Save role on the last page, your role will go live on the Triplebyte Jobs Directory if you've checked the "Visible to candidates" box.
If the visibility checkbox is unchecked, the role will not be visible. It will be saved in its current state of completeness. You can come back and edit it or make it visible in the future.
After you've created your job posting
How to view and interact with applicants
After an applicant views your job posting and applies, you'll see their complete Triplebyte profile, including scores from any Triplebyte assessments they've made visible.
If you accept an application, you will be prompted to send the applicant a message about next steps, and will be immediately connected with that applicant via email.
If you reject an application, you have the option to send them a message or not.
If you do not take action on an application within 10 days, we will mark it as expired.
Learn more about how to manage direct applications.
Do job postings expire?
Job postings expire after 30 days if a company does not view, accept, or reject any applicants in that time period. If you are interacting with applicants on a regular basis, your job posting will not expire.
How can I create additional free job postings, after my first one?
To create more job postings or edit existing ones, select the Hire tab in the top nav bar. Then select the Applicants tab in the left nav bar. You can add a new role by clicking the + sign above the Role dropdown menu. You can edit an existing role by selecting it from the dropdown and clicking the 3 dots to the right.
How can I delete a job posting?
You can hide your job posting at any time by logging in and unchecking the "Visible to candidates" box. If you do this, we will remove the job from our jobs directory, but will retain the job posting information. This way you can continue to interact with any candidates still in the application process, and can edit and enable it again in the future if you want.
If you want to fully delete a job posting, select the Disable Role button. This will fully delete the role and all the information within it, and will end the process for all current applicants. We don't recommend disabling a role in most cases. It's generally better to simply make a role invisible to new candidates so that you don't lose candidate interaction history or information.
How to get a higher response rate:
- Be responsive! Accept or reject applicants in a timely manner. Why? Your actions determine how often your role is shown to candidates.
Candidates want to see roles they're 1) interested in, 2) qualified for, and 3) likely to hear back from. So we show jobs to each candidate in a unique order that's based on their preferences, experience, AND company activity on Triplebyte.
Unlike other platforms, we don't use the date a role was posted as a proxy for how actively a company is hiring. If you are actively responding to applicants, we know that means you're still actively hiring and your role will show up near the top of results for candidates looking for roles like yours. There's no benefit to re-posting a role. Just keep responding to applications in a timely manner! - Fill out your company profile completely. Top engineers know they don't have to settle for just any role. So we let them search on a wide variety of filters to more exactly find what they're looking for.
Any company profile questions left blank are considered a mismatch if a candidate is looking for that information. That means every answer you do provide only increases the likelihood of your role showing up with a higher match score for candidates. Roles from companies with complete profiles show up higher than roles from companies with incomplete profiles.
