When you're reviewing the list of company requests in your Requests Manager, you may see a tag that says Skills First Mode next to the role name, like this:
Skills First Mode is a search mode for companies that helps them prevent unconscious bias in their reach-out strategy. When a company enables Skills First Mode, engineer names, avatars, pronouns, and social links are obscured until the engineer responds to the company's outreach. This helps companies focus on your skills, projects, and experience, not your identifying information. Companies can choose to enable additional bias reduction options too, like obscuring education, past employer names, and professional organizations (work descriptions are still visible).
Once you reply to the company, your profile will be unobscured and the company will be able to view identifying information you've previously chosen to make visible on your profile (like your name, avatar, pronouns, and social links).
