Engineers can directly apply to your company's open roles via the Triplebyte Job Directory. Here's how it works:
How to view and respond to applications:
Incoming applications will be displayed under the Applicants tab in the left sidebar. New applications will be displayed as Pending. You can sort applications within the Applicants tab by relevance, date, and years of experience.
When you accept an application, you will be prompted to write a message to tell the candidate about next steps. You can also choose to provide feedback about why their application was accepted and let us know whether we can include that info in an email to the candidate. Their profile will immediately move to the Accepted list within your Candidate Pipeline in the left sidebar. It will no longer be visible under Applicants in the left sidebar.
You can choose to push applicants to your ATS manually, as soon as they apply, or upon accepting their application. Applicant outcomes will be automatically updated on Triplebyte based on the stage/status of the candidate in your ATS.
When you reject an application, you may choose to write a message to the applicant or not. You can also choose to provide feedback about why their application wasn’t accepted and let us know whether we can include that info in an email to the candidate. Their profile will be moved from Pending to Rejected and will remain under the Applicants tab in the left sidebar.
If you do not respond to an application within 10 business days, the applicant's profile will be moved to Expired and will remain under the Applicants tab in the left sidebar. We will send an email to the applicant to let them know their application has expired.
Using Bulk Actions:
If you select multiple candidates to accept or reject in bulk, the process works the same way. For accepted applicants, you’ll be prompted to write a message (you can write a new message or use one of your saved templates), and choose whether to share feedback. For applicants you’re rejecting, you can choose whether or not to write a message and/or share feedback.
What do applications include?
Applicants share their entire Triplebyte profile, including any Triplebyte assessment scores they've made visible.
How long can I access applications?
We've heard from many engineers that ghosting is one of the worst pain points in the job search process. So we mark applications as expired at 10 business days and send engineers an email notification. However, you will have access to an applicant's profile and any scores visible at the time of application for 90 days starting from the date of the application. This makes it easy to find a past applicant if you want to reach out to them about another role that might be a better fit.
The only exception to this is if an applicant adds your company to their blocklist (a list of companies an engineer has blocked from viewing their profile). Applications supersede a candidate's blocklist at first (we figure if they make the effort to apply to your company, they actually do want you to be able to see and respond to their application!). However, if your company is on their blocklist, you will only be able to view their profile until an application outcome -- acceptance, rejection, or expiration.
How can I encourage the right candidates to apply for my open roles?
In order to find the best matches, we recommend keeping your roles and company profile updated.
- To update your current roles, select Candidates on the left sidebar. Select a specific role from the drop down menu, click the three dots next to the role name, and select Edit role.
- View and update your company profile here. Follow the prompts to add details about your company's work style, typical projects, team, benefits, and perks.
Other things to know:
When you're searching for candidates, current applicants to your open roles will be displayed with an Applicant tag on their profile.
Candidates can reapply to the same role after 6 months if that role is still open. To view a candidate's history with you, open their profile, click on the action card to the left of the profile, then click Internal Note.
