You can indicate particular interest in a specific candidate by allowing them to skip initial tech screenings. Engineers care a lot about this convenience, so this offer increases the probability of a candidate responding to your message. Skipping tech screens means that they will not have to complete any pre-onsite take-home projects or conduct deep technical conversations. You can still connect with the candidate prior to an onsite to ask about their past projects, how they were built, etc., but deep technical details should be saved until onsites. You can administer an onsite however you wish, and all technical screening is on the table during an onsite.
You can make this offer any time you’re sending an initial reach out to a candidate by selecting the checkbox immediately below the message box (see image below).
Once sent, the offer expires after two weeks. This encourages candidates to respond quickly and doesn’t lock you in to waiving tech screens if the candidate ultimately decides to respond at a much later date (at which point your hiring needs may be different).
